Former Socceroo coach, Raul Blanco, has been appointed as Head Coach of Sydney University Soccer FC.

Leading Sydney Uni in the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s 2 for the 2014 season, the Argentinian will also look to lead the development of football across all divisions at the Club.

The appointment is an exciting prospect for the club, signaling a desire to compete at the highest level of football in the state-wide competition.

“We are really proud of the players that we’ve produced and the style of football that we've played at 1st Grade level over recent years’ said SUSFC President, Mr Andrew Bray.

“For our current coaches and managers, Raul represents a world-class in-house mentor. Raul's expectations and professionalism will set a new benchmark which we hope will filter throughout the Club to create a culture that delivers successful football".

Blanco’s experience includes over 20 years in various programs across the country before taking on the Socceroos role in 1998-99. He was also the Olyroos coach during the 2000 Sydney Olympics and most recently was technical assistant for New Zealand during New Zealand’s 2010 World Cup campaign.
