Andrew Field inducted as Life Member

Dr Andrew Field was inducted as a Life Member of the Association for his services to football in the Eastern Suburbs at the Annual General Meeting on Monday.
With a variety of roles both at Club and Association level, Dr Field has made a very substantial and important contribution to ESFA and football in the Eastern Suburbs for over 20 years.
Andrew Field began his career as a player with Maroubra United and then played for University of NSW where he took on coaching and Executive Committee roles. He was President of Easts FC (previously Easts Soccer Club) for 18 years and then has served on the Board of ESFA for over four years. He has also held many coaching roles across the Association, including coaching more than 35 Easts FC teams, ten ESFA Metropolitan representative teams and Metro East state title teams.
Dr Field’s long list of accolades includes, qualifications as an FFA Advanced accredited coach, FNSW coaching instructor for more than ten years, identifying and coaching the strongest U10 players within Easts FC and at representative level, and maintaining a high level of engagement with ESFA, its constituent clubs, Football NSW and in the football community generally.
He is also a recipient of the Australian Sports Medal in 2000, the highest sports honour in Australia.
Dr Field received a standing ovation upon being elected as Life Member. He thanked the Clubs, his colleagues on the Board and his wife for their continual support of his football endeavours.
