Sunday 16th November, 2014 sees the over 30s women of the ESFA competition compete for the Louise Mazzaroli Cup.
For those who are unaware, ESFA Life Member Louise was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2010 and an Over 35s Women's Tournament and Cup was played and the Cup was dedicated in her honour.
Louise played for Maroubra United and Queens Park among other Clubs and was a familiar face around the parks in latter years with her dedication and passion for refereeing. Louise gave much of her time to the Referees Branch in volunteering assistance to the Branch where required.
Louise lost her battle with cancer on this day three years ago. This Sunday sees ESFA honour Louise once again with our over 30s Women from Dunbar Rovers, Olympic Eagles, MaroubraUnited, Maccabi Hakoah and Lokomotiv Cove competing for the right for their names to be engraved on the trophy!
The teams will be playing a five a side competition. This is a charity event and we are hoping to raise funds for Breast Cancer all while enjoying some sunshine, football, camaraderie and fun.
We hope to see the ESFA community support this event by coming down to Maroubra Sports (Cnr Fitzgerald and Malabar Rds, Maroubra) from 2:00pm Sunday 16th November, 2014.
There are raffle prizes to be won which include a signed Sydney FC Jersey.
Football is all about community. Come and join the football family in assisting and supporting those less fortunate in health through fund raising in honour of one of their own.
