Monday 24th November, 2014 saw ESFA Clubs come together for the ESFA AGM.

The ESFA AGM allowed for six ESFA Presidents Peter Hennessy, Roy Belcher, Ted Simmons, Sean Fenton, Wally Holzer and Raff Del Vecchio to gather for a rare photo opportunity of historic significance for community football.

Raff Del Vecchio stepped aside after three intensive and successful years as ESFA President prior to the meeting, allowing nominations to be received for this role.

ESFA Life Member Sean Fenton was declared President of ESFA and we welcome him to this role as ESFA moves forward on its solidly built foundation of the previous three years.

Following nominations received for Technical Development and Coaching Director as well as the two positions of Director Without Portfolio, the ESFA Board currently stands as follows. With no nominations received for Senior Football Director after Elisha McKie elected to not stand again, the Board will now be charged with filling that role.

·     President – Sean Fenton

·     Treasurer – Mark Puterflam

·     Director of Junior Football – Ron Ogilvie

·     Director of Senior Football – casual vacancy

·     Director of Small Sided Football – casual vacancy

·     Director of Technical Development & Coaching – Andrew Field

·     Director – John Clayton

·     Director – Paul Kelly

The AGM also provided the platform to present the Hall of Fame recipient. This year the honour was awarded to Roy Belcher for his many years of work within ESFA having been previous President of ESFA for 7 years and also committed and dedicated to Coaching, Refereeing and Judiciary among his many repertoires and assistance to ESFA. Roy is currently championing Beach Soccer with his undying passion for football.

The Ted Simmons Junior Football Medal was also awarded. Pagewood U16s as a team along with their Coach Mr Bill Katakouzinos who has coached the team for the last 6 years, were awarded the respect this year for their constantly high achievements throughout 2014 having won the ESFA Competition, the ESFA Grand Final and reaching the Grand Final of the Champion of Champions.

ESFA is based and seeped in history. ESFA's new President Sean Fenton was presented with three plaques from Football NSW to commemorate ESFA's only three SENIORS Champions of Champions wins in the history of the competition, since 1972.
  • Mike Evans, Maccabi Seniors President presented the plaque awarded in 1998 to Over 35s Champion of Champions as won by Maccabi in that year
  • Quintin Freeman, Dunbar Rovers Honorary President, presented the winners plaque from Dunbar Rover's All Age Mens Champions of Champions victory in 2008
  • Peter Hennessy, Dunbar Rovers President presented the current 2014 plaque for All Age Mens Champion of Champions winners
These plaques will be proudly displayed in the ESFA office and we look forward to more space on the wall being filled in the future. We would like to thank former ESFA President Peter Hennessy for instigating this gesture.

All Clubs represented at the AGM were presented with the 2014 Annual Report which is now available in the library section of our website for all our members perusal.

The work does not stop now and we envisage a highly successful 2015 season.

We thank all our Member Clubs’ volunteers for their commitment to the ESFA Competition.
