President of Coogee United AAM Championship (Premier League) squads and Coogee United stalwart Jake Peacock, is leaving Australian shores in March, 2015 heading back with his lovely wife Lucy to his native country to begin a family of future football players.

Jake has volunteered a huge amount of personal time into creating Coogee United into the AAM Championship team it currently is today (winners of 2014 Grand Final). This has also required Jake's time involved as well as continual effort with ESFA meetings and opposition Clubs who hold Jake in high respect.

To farewell Jake from the football family of ESFA, Coogee United are sending him off in style with a testimonial game on Saturday 7th February, 2015 at Brazilian Field from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Coogee United will do battle with an ESFA all stars team consisting of players from Dunbar Rovers, Glebe Wanderers and Maroubra United who will all be dressed in their club colours. This is a first for ESFA and we invite the ESFA football family to share in this entertainment as spectators. We have no doubt it shall be an entertaining game of football with Jake promising to be no less competitive than his usual self!

The game shall be followed by drinks and refreshments.

Coogee United are also using this opportunity to raise funds to assist in the medical treatment of Amelie Joyce, a youngster who has been diagnosed with Tay-Sachs Disease and is not expected to live past 5 years of age. Her story may be read here Amelie's Story

We trust the ESFA football family will embrace Amelie by coming along to not only witness some great football and farewell Jake, but to help Amelie's family make her life as enjoyable as possible for her time with us. The football family once again looks after its own.

Jake's ESFA and Coogee United career is detailed below -

  • 2002 - joined Coogee United and won the 2nd Grade Grand Final
  • 2003-2005 - Coached Coogee United 2nd Grade
  • 2006 - Coached Coogee United 2nd Grade and 1st Grade
  • 2007 - Set up Coogee United Premier League squad to enter inaugural ESFA PL competition, becoming President of CUFC PL from 2007- 2015

Worth noting that during Jake's involvement with Coogee United, and since 2009, they have qualified for the finals at least in both grades every year with the exception of 1st Grade in 2011.

We at ESFA wish Jake all the best with his future in the UK and hope the ESFA community will join us in acknowledging the time given to make the AAM Championship League a success not only for CUFC but for the AAM Championship League within ESFA.
