The Westfield FFA Cup is a national knockout competition that includes teams from Association and State level, National Premier League and right through to Hyundai A-League.
ESFA teams began their campaign in earnest over the weekend of 14th and 15th March, 2015.
Waverley Old Boys AAM Championship squad took on Putney at Valentines Sports Park on March 15th. At half time, Waverley were dominating the opposition 3-nil. A converted penalty to Putney in the second half saw the score at 3-1 however another converted penalty to WOB meant the full time score was an impressive 4-1 victory. WOB now will meet Sydney Olympic in their next round on April 1st, 2015. A big match for all concerned.
Coogee United AAM Championship squad met Hills Pumas at Five Sports, Caringbah on Saturday14th March, 2015. A drought of goals on both sides with many chances for Coogee United, still resulted in a brilliant 1 nil victory to Coogee United. Coogee United have kept their dream alive and have advanced to Round 4 of the competition.
Pagewood Botany FC Championship squad played a tough match against North Sydney United at Hensley Athletic Field on Sunday 15th March, 2015. Up 1 nil until playing with one man down, Pagewood were unable to keep the momentum going and unfortunately have bowed out after the first round with a 4-1 loss.
Our other Eastern Suburbs based Club, Dunbar Rovers FC State League were hosted by Camden Tigers at Ron Dine Stadium, Camden on Saturday March 14th, 2015. Dunbar Rovers scored in the first five minutes of the game leading 1 nil at half time. The match then became interesting in the second half, with Dunbar Rovers coming out victors at full time with a 3-1 scoreline. Dunbar Rovers now meet Bankstown City in the fourth round.
