Wednesday 18th March, 2015 saw 38 incredibly enthusiastic coaches of all ages, take to the fields at Coral Sea Park in our Grassroots Expo and Course.
Oscar Gonzalez, Coach Education Manager from Football NSW presented an excellent session which gave many coaches the opportunity to understand the need for our youngest players to find their own feet, own space and own abilities through fun techniques that keeps them all involved at once which subsequently means no distracted and bored young footballers! A valuable lesson indeed. Our coaches also learned positive reinforcement of our future Socceroos and the unnecessary need to yell from the sidelines. Our kids are the future of football and their passion for the game begins at a young age.
Lets hear what a couple of coaches had to say -
"Once again a very well run course tonight at Coral Sea …... It was nice to meet Oscar and I am sure the coaches would have learnt a great deal from tonight"
"Just a quick thank you for last night – incredibly helpful. I can’t believe I coached a year without that basic training, and I feel really bad for the kids I subjected to completely unsystematic practices.
Looking forward to more of the sessions."
FNSW have also advised ESFA that four Community Coaching Coordinators are being employed by FNSW to service and support the local Football Associations and their clubs to provide best practice education courses for their coaches and learning environments for their players. This is excellent news for our Association Coaches. These Coordinators will be on the grounds throughout the season.
We thank all those who attended and Oscar for presenting. We also thank Maroubra United Football Club for graciously allowing us the use of Coral Sea Park. We look forward to further Course Updates later in the season.
We now have 38 FFA Certified Grassroots Coaches. Congratulations!
Happy faces told the story and the eagerness for the season to now arrive has been given a new boost in our coaches!
Coaching our youngest players can often seem like an endless task. Our Coaches now realise it is anything but!
