April 18th, 2015 will be the 10th Anniversary of the Dimos Shield played between Pagewood Botany FC and Waverley Old Boys FC AAM Championship (Premier League) teams.
Once again, the match will be played at Jellicoe Park, Pagewood at 3:00pm.
The Dimos Mastoris Shield is a day celebrated by Pagewood and Waverley Old Boys to honour the memory of Dimos Mastoris. Dimos passed away while playing the game of football he loved for Pagewood Botany FC against Waverley Old Boys FC in 2005. Dimos was well know to Waverley Old Boys as he was also an ''old boy'' of Waverley College.
These two Clubs now share a common bond which has been forged over many years and is a continual show or respect by both Clubs for their love of a great footballer and man known to many. Dimos was a husband and father of two daughters and at a young age of 35 years was taken from his family and football family too soon.
We invite the ESFA football community to show it's support on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm and witness once again the true meaning of the football family.
Jellico Park will be a hive of activity throughout the day to celebrate the Dimos Shield.
We wish both Pagewood Botany FC and Waverley Old Boys all the best on the day in their respect of Dimos and the game of football on the 10th Anniversary of the Dimos Shield.
