4108 games from our under 8s up to our Seniors and only 13 to go!

Not to mention how many times our U6s and U7s took to the fields and also enjoyed their Gala Days.

We don’t see 13 as an unlucky number! We see it as the end to a great season of football. We see it as 13 hour days, 13 cups of coffee, 13 speeches to go and the 13th being the last day of ESFA Competition!

The past two weekends have seen some brilliant football witnessed along with the true spirit of the game and camaraderie between teams and clubs.

Our biggest crowd thus far was reserved for our AAM Championship match between Coogee United FC and Maroubra United FC which saw League Champions Coogee United FC victorious over a strong and determined Maroubra United. The chants of the crowd during the preceding Reserve Grade game which saw Dunbar Rovers FC get over Coogee United FC with a 4-3 win after trailing 3 nil at half time, created some of the most lively and best atmosphere at Hensley thus far.

Our AAW Championship match ended the weekend with an extra time finish which saw Dunbar Rovers FC League Champions narrowly defeat Coogee United FC 2-1. The crowd once again kept all entertained with their cheers and chants throughout the game. This is what football is all about. Skilled sportspeople and enthusiastic crowds!

This weekend sees the 2015 season finale! Saturday and Sunday the following matches will be played for all to witness and enjoy. If you haven’t had your football fix for a while and you would like to be part of or even add to the atmosphere, come on down and see what all the fuss is about!

In the words of the late great former Manchester United Manager Sir Matt Busby “Winning is not everything. There should be no conceit in victory and no despair in defeat”.

We have witnessed the camaraderie of football over the past two weekends and look forward to the football family once again coming together to farewell Season 2015.
