Our friends at Dunbar Rovers FC are holding a fundraiser for Eastern Suburbs football stalwart CHARLIE DAVIDSON at Hensley Athletic Field on Monday, September 28th, when their 2015 State League 2 winning side will take on Sydney FC’s National Youth League team, in what will be Sydney FC’s first ever game in the Eastern Suburbs against local opposition!
Charlie, a former Head Coach at Dunbar Rovers FC, led the club to its first ever “ESFA treble” – the ESFA Premier League title, Grand Final (at the Sydney Football Stadium no less!) and ESFA Cup, all in the 2009 season.
Charlie is also well known with Maroubra United, and Sydney Grammar School (most recently being Football Director), along with many other football fraternities within the East.
He was also, for a number of years, along with Wellington Phoenix Coach Ernie Merrick, the most highly qualified coach in Australia and was a coaching instructor with both FNSW and the FFA.
Charlie has been doing it tough health-wise lately and we believe that football is often more about family than the actual game itself. It’s time to give back to Charlie what Charlie has given to football over the years.
Do not miss out on watching the “Best in the East”, whilst giving back to Charlie for all his love and commitment to the game. Football looks after its own. Football is family and Dunbar Rovers FC invites you all to witness the beautiful game played in the true spirit!
The aim is to sell out Hensley. The game will be during school holidays and the 7pm kickoff should allow plenty of ESFA kids to come down and watch some potential future Socceroos in action. Tickets are $10 for adults (with kids making a $2 gold coin donation at the gate) and can be purchased online HERE
