Pagewood Botany FC Over 45s Crowned Champion of Champions

We were right! All good things come to those who wait!

On a cool Spring night at Valentines Sports Park with a plethora of spectators in attendance, Pagewood Over 45s continued their goal of becoming Champions of Champions and not suffering a defeat all season. A remarkable achievement in the world of football.

While North Rocks FC kept Pagewood scoreless in the first half with both teams somewhat rusty with a slow start given the time between games, it was only a matter of time before Pagewood scored.

Pagewood coach Lino Abruzzese strategically changed their formation and with the first goal coming from Steve Downey, Pagewood AAW3 coach, the second goal came from the South American Gerry Alvarez securing the victory shortly thereafter. Pagewood dominating the second half.

The full time the scoreboard flashed 2 nil to Pagewood and the celebrations of our Masters winning the Cup that meant the most to them, well and truly began.

We thank Football NSW for making the long awaited experience and entire event as brilliant as if it had been held on its original date.

ESFA and the ESFA community, congratulate Pagewood Botany FC Over 45s and their coaching staff for a truly remarkable season 2015 and are proud that further silverware has been brought back to the ever expanding Eastern Suburbs Football Association.
