We always refer to our football community as our football family. Our friends at Waverley Old Boys Football Club are holding a Charity Gala Day on 21st February, 2016.
The fun begins from 1:00pm with Juniors invited to a free coaching clinic till 3:00pm and Seniors invited to a 5-a-side tournament at the cost of $160.00 per team of 8 which will run from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
Waverley invite all their extended football family to attend this event and perhaps enter a seniors 5-a-side team. What would be a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than playing five a side football while raising money charity.
Waverley Old Boys Football Club players David and Deborah Dahdah have enjoyed the love of football together and have a long involvement with the Club. David and Deborah were blessed with the birth of their daughter Olivia Dahdah in October, 2014. Olivia sadly passed away at 6 months of age from Spinal Muscular Atrophy – a relatively rare genetic condition and fatal disorder devastating her parents, family, friends and their football family.
To promote awareness of this condition and raise funds toward a cure for SMA, Deborah and David created a fund with Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. In Memory of Olivia Dahdah, Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation has a target of $80000.00 to raise. As part of our extended football family, we reach out to Deborah and David and offer our support to assist in raising funds so no other parent need endure the hardship of losing a child to SMA.
WOBFC Gala Day will be held in Centennial Park. For further details on the event please email firstname.lastname@example.org for junior events and for all information with regard to the 5-a-side tournament email email@example.com
Let’s play football, support our fellow Club in their endeavour to raise funds in memory of Olivia Dahdah. If you are unable to attend, please consider a donation to this worthy cause.
Football is family.
