July School Holidays Must Mean Kanga Cup!

Published: 7/07/2016 12:44:00 PM

If it’s the July school holidays, it must mean that some of our Eastern Suburbs Football Association Junior players are enjoying the rain and cold in Canberra while playing the greatest winter sport of all, football!

The Kanga Cup is the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere. Held annually each July in Canberra, Australia, the weeklong event proudly champions the mission of Uniting the Youth of the World through Football. The Kanga Cup is run by Capital Football, the governing body for football in Canberra. The tournament is sanctioned by the Football Federation Australia and the Asian Football Confederation.

We have been told by many that the fun of playing football in the rain has certainly resonated with the younger kids from ESFA. We hope that all teams are enjoying the tournament and the press surrounding it. Rumour has it that Maroubra United FC representatives have not only made the Canberra Times but the 6:30pm prime time news! Football is BIG this time of year in Canberra!

The following youngsters and slightly more mature youngsters, have been involved in all the fun.
