AAW Championship Grand Final

Season 2016

Our two grand finalists have been decided and will meet once again on the albeit artificial turf of the Wembley of the East, Hensley Athletic Field on Saturday 4th September, 2016 for a 4:30pm kick off.

This is the second year in a row that these two power house clubs of womens football Dunbar Rovers FC and Coogee United FC have met in a Grand Final and the fourth consecutive Grand Final berth for Coogee United.

Just who is playing at what are their stats? It’s all very interesting on paper!

Dunbar Rovers FC

Won the League.

Coached by Gordon Johnston.

Won all their fixtures.

On both regular season encounters, triumphed over Coogee United FC.

Regular season saw 3 forfeits against them.

Straight through to the Grand Final after defeating Coogee United FC in the major semi.

One week rest.

Coogee United FC

Second in the League.

Coached by Steve Greenwood.

6 wins in regular season, 3 draws, 5 losses.

Defeated UNSW in preliminary final.

Game fit.

Whatever you make of the statistics, we are certain that Coogee United FC see it as their year to triumph and the ladies of Dunbar Rovers FC see further silverware in their ever increasing trophy cabinet. Grand Final day sees a whole new statistic either way!

Where will you be Sunday afternoon? Hensley Athletic Field, 4:30pm kickoff, where we showcase the best in womens football in the Eastern Suburbs.

Best of luck to both Clubs.
