Friday 20th January, 2017 top of the Hyundai A League Sydney FC took on Adelaide United FC to cement their League standings as ladder leaders.
For some of us though, the evening was not just about the big game but rather witnessing the younger footballers (future Sydney FC players perhaps) who would become a part of the Sydney FC Match Day experience.
After enjoying the spectacle of our youngsters from Pagewood Botany FC, Dunbar Rovers FC Juniors, Easts FC, Maroubra United FC and Queens Park FC walk out from the Allianz Stadium tunnel with Adelaide United FC onto the pitch, from kick off we eagerly anticipated half time to see more of our kids take to the field.
It was certainly worth the wait. On the centre circle mat were our kids from Dunbar Rovers and our youngsters from Mascot Kings, Maroubra United, Pagewood Botany, Easts and Queens Park were entertaining us with their football skills. One of our Junior Referees was even lucky enough to be part of the ball kids for the night. Front row view indeed! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience and there was some excellent football on show at half time for the crowd.
We would like to thank all the volunteers from the clubs involved in assisting ESFA in providing so many of our MiniRoos kids and Sydney FC for providing the opportunity. A special thank you to all the parents who embraced the experience. You can tell from our photos that the kids enjoyed themselves.
The night was beautifully finished for our excited group of kids by a 2 nil win to Sydney FC ensuring the entire experience was a positive one for all.
If you wish to join a MiniRoos Club in season 2017, more information about our Clubs is available here.
