2017 State Cup (Cheryl Salisbury Cup) Final

The Deploy State Cup Finals were held at Valentines Park on July 16th, 2017. Eastern Suburbs Football Association would wish to extend commiserations to Maroubra United FC after a hard fought battle did not go their way.

Maroubra United’s G12s had to be up early to travel to Valentines Park for a 9:00am kick off vying for the Cheryl Salisbury Cup. Their enthusiasm ensured a tightly contested match first up. With no score recorded in the first half, Gladesville broke through for a 1-0 lead, shortly after the break. Maroubra United never gave up and continued to attack for goal. Full time score was 1-0 and the girls should take consolation in the fact that they played quality football and were able to experience the thrill of finals football.

For ESFA, this ensures the high quality of female football in the future is certianly ensured. Well done to the young ladies of Maroubra United and their hard working coach.
