2017 ESFA Womens Cup Champions

Dunbar Rovers FC were triumphant in the 2017 ESFA Womens Cup, but it wasn't always going to be easy!

We all knew it was going to be a tough game and this was proven when both Dunbar Rovers and Mascot Kings were equal at 1 all, after 90 minutes.

With temperatures dropping to be worthy of any European League, the football was hotting up. Extra time and no golden goal rule, would ensure a further 30 minutes of football at least, to entertain the enthusiastic crowd.

Dunbar took the lead in extra time and with the game continuing to be one of grit and determination, Mascot Kings did not give up and continued to attack though were unable to find the back of the goal. Both goalkeepers were kept busy during the entire game and with cramps aplenty in extra time, there was not one player on the pitch that did not give their all. A credit to female football.

The end result was a 2-1 victory to Dunbar Rovers FC whose name is now proudly engraved in history.

Congratulations to the ladies of Dunbar Rovers FC and their coach, on becoming 2017 ESFA Womens Cup.
