State Cup Final 22nd July 2018

Who cares what’s happening in Russia? We have an ESFA team in the State Cup (Bill Cullinan Cup) final on Sunday 22nd July 2018 at Valentines Sports Park!

Dunbar Rovers O35 who put in a formidable performance in their 4-3 semifinal loss to previous State Cup winners Leichhardt, were unable to repeat their standing of 2016 when they reached the State Cup final. We salute their campaign and we suspect concentration now turns to the ESFA League and Champion of Champions where they have a chance to get in the history books once again.

Sydney Uni AAW Championship A met previous State Cup finalists Northbridge and were unable to secure a win over their opponents. Women’s football in the Eastern Suburbs is increasing in strength every season and it is only a matter of time before we have another womens team representation in the State Cup final, with Dunbar Rovers having won the cup in 2015. We commend the ladies on their campaign and representing their Club and ESFA with pride.

Coogee United are creating their own piece of history, having never been represented in the AAM Bill Cullinan Cup finals and an AAM Sunday team never representing ESFA in the State Cup finals. With no other ESFA team having won the Bill Cullinan Cup, we look forward to those history pages continually turning.

With the ESFA League draw beautifully aligning to what may be a positive omen of a scheduled bye, all roads on Sunday 22nd July 2018 for Coogee United AAM1A, their coach Coogee Chairman Chris Calverley and their supporters, lead to Valentines Sports Park. Stay tuned for further details closer to the date as to what time this match will be scheduled against Kirrawee Kangaroos FC.

Looking forward to Coogee United bringing it home to the Eastern Suburbs.
