And then there were two … possibly three!

We would like to congratulate our teams who competed in the Quarter Finals of the Champion of Champions Tournament on Sunday 7th October 2018. With all teams having done both their Clubs and ESFA proud, like any football match, there are always winners and runners up! Unfortunately we have no more Junior teams representing the Association however, are just as proud of Pagewood Botany G12s, U14s and Dunbar Rovers U15s, who made the Quarter Finals, which were all played in some tough conditions on Sunday with fantastic displays of football! In 2017 there were two ESFA junior teams at Quarter Finals stages and with three on Sunday, it is a testament to the current skill level in our Junior Competition.

Congratulations to Dunbar Rovers O35 Men, after successfully moving forward to the Semi Finals with a Golden Goal thriller of a victory against North Sydney United, sealing a 2-1 win. Coogee United AA Men (Championship) found their victory a little bit easier in the abysmal conditions of a soggy day at Heffron with a 5-1 victory over Penrith Rovers FC.

With Dunbar Rovers AA Women yet to play their quarter final thanks to ground closers at Gosford on Sunday, the promise of a third team going through to the semifinals is still there. Football NSW have scheduled the Dunbar Womens game against Gosford City for Friday night 12th October 2018 at Valentines Sports Park for a 7:15pm kick off.

We have faith the ladies will win through to the semifinal currently scheduled on 14th October at a venue and with opposition to be advised.

In the meantime, our two clubs currently in the semifinal stage, both have away games as follows:

Time

Age Division

Eastern Suburbs FA Team

Opposition Association Team

Venue

5:45pm

AA Men

Coogee United FC

Pittwater FC – Manly Warringah FA

Cromer Park 2

5:30pm

One thing is for sure, we are in the best position for a number of years to reach that elusive Champion of Champions Final in more than one division. With all three teams and clubs having experienced the excitement of Champion of Champions Finals, we hope that this is once again the year!

We wish all three teams the very best of luck. Is football coming home?
