It might be the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Sydney, however our Girls SAP played in the Sydney FC Cup during the July school holidays.
We asked our GSAP Coordinator Joe Jarmey, to tell us about the adventures.
“ESFA took two GSAP squads along to the Cup.
The sun was shining and there was a great atmosphere across two days of Cup football. Despite coming up against some really tough opposition, the girls kept battling and came up with some brilliant performances and a lot of fun was had by all along the way!
The combined U12 and U13 squad made it through to the quarter finals via a nervy penalty shoot out but narrowly losing in the semi finals.
Our combined U10 and U11 squad went all the way to the finals category and came home with some silverware!
These experiences really enrich the football journey, learning some football lessons, forging stronger bonds and creating lasting memories”.
Girls football is alive and well in the Eastern Suburbs Football Association GSAP program.
