MPL MOTR – Pagewood Botany FC vs Dunbar Rovers

Last years 3rd place Dunbar will be taking on Pagewood who will be looking to have a stronger run this season. PBFC Captain James Katakouzinos said, “teams should look out for their fast and strong CB Jett (ex-Hakoah) and budding young gun Finn who will be making his first senior appearance this year.”

Dunbar defender Sam Walker is confident his team will challenge for the top spot this year as well as the ESFA cup. With only 22 goals conceded in the league last year, Sam says “to watch out for the same dominant back line along with a dangerous front three looking to do damage in the league.”

This game promises to be good watch and will be played out of ES Marks (previously Jellicoe Park) tomorrow at 3pm for first grade and 1pm for reserve grade. Good luck to both sides!

WPL MOTR – Lokomotiv Cove FC vs Easts FC

Both teams are new to the Women’s top tier this year and are aiming for a top 4 finish, challenging for finals. Easts FC captain Caitlin Browner is excited for the season and says, “the team would love a top 4 finish but being a competitive, good football-playing team is the number one goal”. Loko’s captain Janike Lai is looking forward to a competitive season in the topflight and warns teams of a strong midfield that will be hard to break through. Janike’s team are most looking forward to versing last years league, grand final and ESFA cup winners Coogee United, aiming to make such wins much more difficult in 2021.
