ESFA Round 7 Review

Each week we will display a new league table, as well as our MPL & WPL ladders.

This week’s featured league is the Men’s O35 Championship (Fridays). Glebe Wanderers are flying high after four straight wins, with Pagewood in close second and top spot well within reach. Dunbar Rovers have only played two games but have demonstrated they can find the back of the net with a whopping 6 goals on Friday. Glebe Gorillas had a bye this round but will look to continue with winning ways after their first win on 13th May. UNSW and Loko have had a mixed bag of results so far but have both scored many goals, even in the games they didn’t win.

Glebe Wanderers 4 – 2 UNSW FC
Pagewood Botany 6 – 1 Lokomotiv Cove
Coogee United 1 – 6 Dunbar Rovers

Here is the ladder after Round 7 of the Women’s Premier League.

There was a lot of movement in the ladder after the weekends results, with big wins and washout games attributing to the changes. Coogee United have extended their lead at the top with Loko in close second after a big jump up from 5th.

The WPL match of the round included Easts FC vs Sydney University, however this game was rescheduled due to field closures.

Coogee United 5 – 0 Maroubra United
Lokomotiv Cove 2 – 1 Waverley Old Boys

Here is the ladder after Round 7 of the Men’s Premier Leagues: First Grade and Reserve Grade.

After the made-up washout fixture last night, we managed to secure a full week of fixtures in Round 7 (FG only).

The MPL Match of the Round featured Glebe Gorillas vs Phoenix, which was played last night due to the weekend washout. The teams shared the points in a two-goal evening game at Heffron Synthetic. The result means that both teams are now creeping closer to the top spot on the ladder with Glebe equal with Coogee with 14 points, and Phoenix only three points behind.

Both Gorillas and Phoenix have a game in hand on Coogee so we may see some more movement in the ladder over the coming weeks.
