Louise Mazzaroli Cup 2023 A Testament To Women’s Football

Maroubra United and ESFA held the Louise Mazzaroli Cup on March 4th 2023 at Latham Park, South Coogee.

The Louise Mazzaroli Cup is held during the week of International Women’s Day (8th March), which is a further reminder of the importance of Women and the role they play in football and to promote O30s Women’s football and football in general whether coaching, playing, refereeing or volunteering for the better good.

ESFA wish to acknowledge the hard work of Maroubra United volunteers and the incredible role once again played by Adam Lee, with angel Louise at the helm, proving once again the importance of Women’s football.

We would like to thank all the Women’s Clubs who entered with a special shoutout to UNSW entering their first LM Day and Pagewood Botany G17s for taking on the women of ESFA. The heat of the day was only matched by the radiation of the happy smiles.

With the eventual winners of the Louise Mazzroli Cup for O30s Women being crowned, it was a big congratulations for two years in a row, for the women of Lokomotiv Cove!

The Group A Final winners Mascot Kings and Group B Final winners Maroubra United. The winners taking home 10 tickets courtesy of Sydney FC for any Allianz Sydney FC game.

Maroubra also got the opportunity to show the women the joys of Walking Football with each team having one game against the Coral SeaLions Walking Football team. It was great to witness so many smiles, laughs and giggles! We all know where we will be playing one day! ESFA support the Walking Football program and hope the demonstrations allowed more of our community to realise what a great game it actually is! Louise would have been proud that football was moving even further to appeal to a broader spectrum of players.

Congratulations to our raffle winners on the day as well as all the particpants for helping raise in Louise’s name over $2000.00 for Two Good Co. which will assist in their course to change women’s lives for the better.

Thank you to the following Clubs for being part of a successful and special day:

Dunbar Rovers, Glebe Wanderers, Lions, Maroubra United, Mascot Kings, Pagewood Botany and UNSW.
