How many players on field?

It’s 6v6, including a goalkeeper

How many allowed in squad?

As many as you need – we recommend at least 10 players to cover absences, etc.

How many fields on the field?

There are 4 fields 

How long are the games?

The games are 20 minutes each way – juniors 15 mins each way

What do we wear?

Football kit! Numbered shirts, shorts, socks and shoes – we recommend normal moulded football boots.

Are kits provided?

They’re not, but if you’re playing in a team from an ESFA club, you could wear your club kit!

In the All Age – Mixed competition, what are the rules around women on the field?

There must be at least 2 women on the field at all times.

Are there sidelines or can you play the ball off the nets?

There are sidelines, and when the ball goes out, it is kicked back in.

Can we have a ring-in if we’re short?

All players must be registered, or they will not be insured in case of accident or injury.

Scheduling FAQ

What time slots on the nights?

Seniors will kick off at 6:45, 7:45, 8:15,  – we will likely only use the latest times if we are pretty full
MiniRoos and Juniors will kick off 5:00, 5:35 and 6:10

How long does the season run for?

The season Tuesday 10th October  and runs for 10 weeks. 9 weeks plus 1 week finals for all.

Are the competitions graded?

If we get enough team nominations to run multiple divisions, we’ll grade the teams.

Registration FAQ

How do the fees work?

Seniors: $150.00 per player
MiniRoos/Juniors: $130.00 per player (Active Kids voucher may be used)

Each player must register in PlayFootball if they’re not already registered for summer football. 

How do I enter a team?

How do I register as a player?

Players can register online with Play Football

What if I don’t have a team?

Email us at summerfootball@esfa.com.au and we can try to match you up with a team looking for players!

What if our team doesn’t have enough players?

Email us at summerfootball@esfa.com.au and we can try to match you up with players looking for a team!

I’ve registered my team, but when I try to register in Play Football I can’t find my team. What do I do?

When you register in Play Football, you’ll register under the club name ‘ESFA Summer Football’ – we will match up the player registration records to the team lists. 

When do registrations close?

We’ll close entry for teams as at Thursday 5th October

We’ll accept player registrations after that point, so if you need to top up your team, you can!

are players who haven’t played in winter sign up?

Absolutely! We would love to see lots of new players!
