FFA: All Football Activities Temporarily Suspended Till 14th April

Football Federation Australia today announced a suspension of football activities from midnight tonight 17th March 2020 until 14th April 2020. Please note, this is a postponement of football.

Below is a message from the ESFA President which was sent to all Clubs today:

Dear ESFA Members,
ESFA endorses the attached recommendation from Football Federation Australia to postpone all football activities until 14th April, 2020.

As communicated with Club Presidents, the ESFA Board are meeting tonight in order to finalise its response in line with this announcement and will communicate with members as soon as possible.

A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) guide will be published in the coming days which will confirm the competition structure moving forward but for the avoidance of doubt “football activities” include (but are not limited to):

  • Club training
  • Pre-season trial matches
  • ESFA Competition matches
  • ESFA football programs, including SAP Development Programs
  • ESFA Coach Education courses and workshops

As previously mentioned, things are moving quickly. ESFA will continue to work closely with relevant agencies and organisations to ensure we have access to the latest advice on how to keep our football community and the public safe.

It is important to note that the season is not being cancelled. We will continue to review the situation and provide our community with regular updates.

Regards,

Nigel Singh
President
Eastern Suburbs Football Association
